Just how smart is Chaser? He reportedly has a vocabulary more than twice that of a two-year-old child. A child that age usually has a vocabulary of 300 words. Chaser, at 10 years young, knows more than 1,000 English words. Chaser is owned by John Pilley, a retired psychology professor who has trained Chaser to recognize the names of 800 cloth toys, 116 balls and more than a hundred plastic toys.
