Rachel Sheppard is the author and founder of My Kid Has Paws. She is a Global Marketing Associate, MBA, blogger, animal lover, volunteer, and shoe collector.
After graduating from the University of California, Davis with a Bachelor’s Degree in Animal Science & Management, she worked as a Veterinary Assistant for three years. Her daily interactions with pet parents inspired her to start her blog focused on pet health, pet rescue, and pet products. Which has now grown into a lifestyle blog focused on creating the best and healthiest life for you and your pet. She has a true enthusiasm for veterinary medicine and animal science, and enjoys sharing her knowledge and experiences with pet parents just like her.
Rachel and her husband have been blessed with a Corgi named Rooney. They all live, run, and play in the San Francisco Bay Area. Rooney was adopted from a local Pembroke Corgi Rescue in February 2012. Since then, not a day has gone by where he doesn’t bring her lots of joy and smiles.
Rachel uses her social media and marketing skills to assist local organizations. Currently, she is the Community Relations Chair for Canine Companions for Independence East Bay Miracles Chapter, and a Social Media volunteer for Valley Humane Society in Pleasanton, California.
Rachel recently graduated with an MBA in Entrepreneurship from Santa Clara University. She hopes to use her business education and blogging experience to fulfill the needs of pet parents through new product innovation.
When Rachel isn’t blogging, volunteering, or working for the Founder Institute, you can find her having dinner with her husband, walking Rooney, running trails, or shopping for shoes.
